HELLO?!
Are you ready to bring on the Christmas season?!
Whew. We are here at the James house! The boys woke up this morning to our advent tree calendar filled with Hersheys kisses ready to eat each morning before breakfast.
Yep. You read that right--chocolate before breakfast every blessed morning in December before Christmas.
What a glorious way to start the day!
Well, that's it for now....
I've got a lot of decorating to do!
I love our "12 days of Christmas" tradition.
ReplyDeleteStarting with Dec. 26 and continuing through Jan. 6 (which happens to be our anniversary), have a "family" gift wrapped and open one each day. Sometimes chocolate, or a popcorn tin or a DVD. Some gifts are very cheap (and some years they are ALL cheap!)and sometimes not so much so.
As our teens have gotten older, they have taken on a day, to provide a family gift for one of the 12 days. We buy fewer individual gifts, but the kids LOVE this, and my husband and I look forward to it, too. Stretches the fun out a bit!
I grew up lighting advent candles in anticipation of Christmas. I loved this tradition and really looked forward to it. I am hoping to pass this on to my kiddos.
ReplyDeleteI love CHRISTMAS COOKIES!!!!!! :)

Because Becky was born so close to Christmas it brought home Jesus humanity. I imagined Him being knit together in His mother's womb like our baby. Christmas reminds me of all the glory He gave up to to be our great gift... the gift of salvation.
ReplyDeleteI love SO many things about Christmas!! This year, my favorite thing about Christmas is spending it with my new hubby for the very first time!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd those pictures you made are so cool...I'm totally impressed!! I hope I win, I hope I win...
Hmmm, I like the fun food, the girls' excitement about everything, and celebrating Jesus coming...Emmanuel...God with us!
ReplyDeleteI love watching Addison. She loves the light and music. I am excited for Aiden's first Christmas. I love decorating the tree and the house. I love making Christmas cookies with my mom ~ a yearly tradition. But I would have to say the favorite thing about the holidays (other than baby Jesus ~ of course) is being with FAMILY.
ReplyDeleteSorry to comment twice.. but "Me said..." is your favorite cousin... (you better not get this one wrong!!)
ReplyDeleteMy (non-spiritual) Christmas favorites:
ReplyDelete1. The smell of a real tree.
2. Peppermint mocha creamer in my coffee.
3. Icicle lights.
4. Making white chocolate peppermint candy.
5. My new favorite: Watching Amber's face light up when we turn the Christmas tree lights on!
We make christmas cookies w/ my husbands side of family. This year we are having Christmas with my side of the family by going to circus coming to town then going to my sisters house to open presents. My parents head south for the winter so we will do Christmas early Dec. Spending time w/ family has to be my favorite thing & seeing my kids so excieted when they open gifts!
ReplyDeleteI love to make Christmas cookies and candy with my mom each year. Its kind of like our own little tradition. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Christmas lights....on trees, houses, garland, everything! And your signs are super cute. I must try making one! Great gift idea, too! Erin Henriksen
ReplyDeleteI love wrapping gifts. I know most people hate it but I think its a blast...Can't wait to get started.
ReplyDeleteI love buying gifts for people, getting the ornaments and decorations out, and having a nativity up. However, this year is pretty skimpy on the decorating because I'm afraid the girls will break everything!
